As an 8th grader in New York City, Aaron gave a speech to his middle school supporting Michael Bloomberg in his first mayoral campaign. Standing at a podium in the school gym, he took a deep breath — and bravely advocated for higher teacher salaries in front of a crowd of teachers.
Having spent his college summers as a canoeing instructor in Maine, Aaron moved to Washington, DC, in 2010 to try navigating the Potomac. During the 2010 midterm elections, he worked as an organizer and volunteer recruiter for the Democratic National Committee; and since January 2011 has been a member of the West Wing Writers team.
Aaron graduated summa cum laude from Amherst College, where he concentrated his studies on poetry, philosophy, politics, and intramural softball, and edited Amherst’s political journal, The Indicator. An English major, he worked as a teaching assistant in the English Department; was a student representative to the Faculty Committee on Educational Policy; served as President of the Amherst College Democrats; and received the Gilbert and Bancroft Prizes for excellence in public speaking. |
