Sarada honed her appreciation for clear, effective communication in front of one of the toughest audiences in the world: 10th graders. As a Teach for America corps member, she taught English in New Orleans’ largest high school before going on to train incoming teachers at the organization’s summer institute. In the years that followed, she turned her education practice into education policy expertise. She served as Senator Mary Landrieu’s lead policy advisor on education reform and the post-hurricane rebuilding efforts in the New Orleans school system, and managed her broader child welfare agenda.
While on Capitol Hill, Sarada also developed a wealth of knowledge regarding the complexities of health care policy, becoming Senator Landrieu’s senior health policy aide during the health reform debate. She played a key role in drafting two of the landmark Affordable Care Act’s provisions.
Sarada draws on her deep policy background while writing and editing speeches, articles, op-eds, books, and testimony for Fortune 50 CEOs, philanthropists, and top public officials. She helped develop the messaging strategy for one of the most innovative and well-regarded education foundations in the country, and has written extensively about health policy for hospitals, health systems, and trade organizations. Her portfolio of expertise also covers issues ranging from international development and environmental sustainability to manufacturing and trade.
Sarada holds a master’s in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a bachelor’s from Tufts University, where she graduated magna cum laude. |
