Before joining West Wing Writers, Allison Whalen was part of a digital communications team that helped progressive senatorial candidates raise millions of dollars in grassroots contributions.

As a writer at Well & Lighthouse, Allison captured the tone and personality of aspiring office seekers, sitting senators, and entertainers throughout the 2016 election cycle. She learned how to inspire Americans to support policies and politicians — as well as a few rhetorical techniques to get them to open their emails.

Today, she puts those same skills to work for new clients and new audiences. Since joining West Wing Writers, Allison has helped Fortune 500 CEOs, philanthropists, and media personalities convey big ideas in forums ranging from tweets and talking points to keynotes and books.

Prior to getting involved in politics, Allison worked for Cvent, an event-management technology company. As a copywriter, she supported Cvent’s sales and marketing team by writing white papers, customer success stories, and blog posts.

Allison graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a degree in journalism and mass communication. She was an NCAA Division I swimmer and has completed marathons and an Ironman triathlon. Allison originally hails from Buffalo, New York, but you can usually find her looking for water fountains on Washington, DC’s running trails.
