Before joining West Wing Writers in 2003, Megan Rooney wrote for the Washington Post and the Chronicle of Higher Education.

She has also worked as a copy editor for the Washington Post and Knight Ridder Business News, a producer for washingtonpost.com, and an intern at “The Charlie Rose Show.” As an undergraduate at Brown University, she was the executive editor of the Brown Daily Herald. She graduated with a degree in classics in 2001.

In her four years in Washington, she has been unable to find an Italian restaurant as good as those on her native Staten Island, but she remains hopeful.
