Thalia Assuras has more than 30 years of experience as a national broadcast journalist, writer, communications consultant, and media trainer.
As an award-winning national television
news anchor and correspondent for the ABC, CBS, and Bloomberg networks in the
United States, and CTV and Global CanWest networks in Canada, she has reported
on, written about, and anchored coverage of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan,
the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the Kosovo refugee crisis, natural disasters,
international politics and elections, presidential summits, and Olympic Games.
Thalia has interviewed Presidents,
Cabinet secretaries, and members of Congress; corporate leaders, scientists,
authors, and celebrities.
Today, Thalia helps
professionals in both the public and private sectors increase their
understanding of and comfort with the media —formulating messages, enhancing
the delivery of those messages, and ensuring that clients’ strategic approach
to media interaction produces the most efficient and effective outcome.
Thalia has lectured on
journalism and media at American University, The George Washington University, and the University of Western Ontario.
Thalia is a member of the
advisory boards of the Center for National Policy and the Next Generation
Initiative.
